I'm Featured in UoPeople 2014 annual report

UoPeople 2014 annual report

I was informed that I might be included in the UoPeople annual report and so it was, checking the annual report today. I found out my picture was included, where I rested on a car's door belonging to one of my friends. I thank God for such an achievement and publicity. UoPeople is a joy and it will remain so, I pray for others coming into the UoPeople community soon, they too can achieve their dreams and become great in their chosen career or path.

You can read about the annual report in the UoPeople website, it is archived there. Click to download report, I'm featured on Pg 16

Getting it right from the first day at UoPeople is a right thinking. It is advisable for students to devote their best shot to their studies from the onset of the Term and each Term is an opportunity to progress successfully. There are lots of distractions if they are allowed, one of my tactics is tp focus on the academics but never to forget to socialize. Having the mindset of leadership is also very necessary in making significant headway in the administration and management of your academic goal or vision. Have informats that keep you informed among your colleagues to notify you of deadlines but make sure you use the University calendar to stay on track for yourself, keep in touch with the right people. Socializing should be an active and regular activity for an online student. It is not in as much as how many friends one makes anyway, but how much more engagement is initiated with them.

The University of the People is ever revolving and changing, that proves a lot about what the University’s management is capable of now and in the future. University of the people is a future school, it deserves a future award, and so far so good in the present it is already making so much progress among the corporate education and social driven entities, this is good for the University and its graduates. Because of the strong brand UoPeople has, graduates would have an edge when they opt for jobs in the corporate environment. It's an elaborate vision that UoPeople has and so far so good, adequate management and lots of volunteering support from strong and vibrant qualified institutional academia workforce has helped immensely.

Congrats to all of my Colleagues for the achievement of this great feat. The country pitch were the highlight of the BAV Consulting internship program. There were many generated insight for proper target marketing and advertisements for the different countries. The reason for the internship is not far fetched, it is a corporate job experience in a way, and it is good for employability.

The adobe connect technology is a nice platform for learning process and presentation of ideas, that was the software used for our meetings, conferencing, participation and learning sessions during the UoPeople-BAV Consulting internship. I was able to do creative designs for two of my colleagues, and my submissions were well appreciated by Ms Sandra from BAV.

She certainly does have a nice time facilitating the internship project and she has huge marketing and brand management experience, it's usually fun and mutually exciting presentation time. The sessions continually exude the right kaizen and idea generation, to say that the internship project was a life improvement opportunity is to say the least.

Started my Internship at BAV Consulting, USA. Today 11/09/2014

Internship at BAV Consulting, USA

It was a great experience today as we connected online to chat with Ms Sandra of BAV Consulting USA, as we started our internship program. It is duration of 20 weeks, lots of knowledge is gained already and it is going to be really exciting. Prompt response from Ms Sandra can't be over appreciated. Seeing her come up on the screen while she lectured is a rejuvenating sight. And her vast experience from the branding and marketing strategy background is revealed in the sage instructional materials she lectures every week. I want to say here that information is real and that one is practically deformed without information.

BAV is grooming us to be research savvy and knowledge minded, one of the crucial and critical give away is that of the marketing nuggets that are targeted at getting the kind of detailed result that are needed, especially for that of University of the People's cross border marketing campaigns and advertisements. Low cost advertisement is a big concern area for UoPeople especially because of the present low revenue generation capacity of the institution when compared with other for profit online Universities.

The University of the People's president is leading the advertisement face for the University, and so far so many media bodies have been reached, engaged and involved. Learning affiliates is a blog that is acting as a supporting voice towards the accomplishment of reaching more people with UoPeople’s goals and visions. Having a team to work with me in accomplishing this is also crucial for me at this time, the great starting point for you is to become a student at UoPeople.

Introducing Leke

Leke Oshiyemi

Leke Oshiyemi is a seasoned HR practitioner with vast experience in the field of Human Resources, personnel recruitment and coaching. He is one of the motivations behind finding UoPeople. I remember all his talks about going back to school, but little did he know about my UoPeople and enrollment until recently. He has worked as an HR Practitioner and Manager in Honeywel, Reckrut Consulting, Verod Capital and presently works in consolidated Breweries.
He happened to be my brother and a mentor, what’s more is that he is also a goal getter, which makes us have something in common. I also spoke with him about the plans to have a scholarship fund for those less privileged but in dare need for tertiary education, to this effect I am anticipating a close door meeting with him, as a sequel to our discussion on the issue. You can also donate to support UoPeople students that don’t have the funds to start or continue in their studies. You can donate be visiting the UoPeople website.

Plans to Meet Mavi S. Isibor

"Our enablers are our
stakeholders. They ensure
our survivability and
sustainability."
Mavi S. Isibor, Poise Nigeria Limited

The fore quote, was the submission of the Nigerian CEO Mavi S. Isibor in the compilation done by the UN Global Compact-Accenture CEO Study 2010.
The study is aimed at addressing a new era in sustainability. Among the varied contributions of CEOs and global leaders in industries across the globe, my eye glued to the Nigerian company representative among the UNGC's 58 CEO respondents from Africa and the Middle East. Citing of some other contributions from other global CEO's, addressing the need for a keen sustainability approach to business enterprises locally and globally.

The key take away for me after reading this report which was one of the study material for my 'Business and Society' course in just concluded Term 5 at Uopeople, is that we can conclude that the majority of Global Compact CEOs now believe that sustainability issues should be fully integrated into core business, and this summarizes the report. Studying the report however will prove that that there is still so much to the issue of sustainability such as education/reorientation of both internal and external customers on the issue of sustainability, other concerns are human right issues, environment issues, labor standards and anti-corruption.

From the report, the following results interest me also:
93% of CEOs believe that sustainability issues will be critical to the future success of their business.
and
96% of CEOs believe that sustainability issues should be fully integrated into the strategy and operations of a company (up from 72% in 2007).

What comes to my mind is selflessness and I have been thinking of meeting Mavi S. Isibor to share with her, the idea I’m nurturing in regards to the drive and purpose this whole study has erupted in me. First of those would be to develop a scholarship fund for those in Nigeria who are truly less privileged but would like to attend a school like the University of the People.

After meeting with Mavi about this proposed initiative, something should crop up that can make this happen, in my best guess this is part of social responsibility movement and a form of sustainability program of sharing and lending resources to where they are needed but less available due to circumstances that are not self determined. Success is possible for everyone, you too can apply today to become a student at UoPeople.

Meeting with Mrs Adeola Ogechi of UoPeople 6th/August/2014.....Assitant dean of Business Admin Faculty UoPeople.....A dream come through finally

It was a real exciting time to meet the assistant dean of the Business Administration Dept, UoPeople. After all the postponement encountered, we finally met at the Lagos Business School in Ajah just after Lekki in Lagos Island..
After confirming that we will meet that Wednesday, I got to the LBS gate and the rest is a recount which I will simply enlighten you about.

After knocking, I got into her office and then she was so busy for a couple of time working to meet some deadline for a client. By the way Mrs Adeola handles the Marketing faculty at LBS just like we will wish.
All the time she apologized about not giving me full attention at the time she tried to round up the presentation for her client. After some time she finished and we got talking.

Mrs Adeola: So you said you wanted to see me.
Kolawole: Yes...
Kolawole: That art work on your wall, is that Venus?

On and on we went, however, we exchanged just a few words, and afterwards we concluded on going for launch at the LBS restaurant. We ate and got back to talking, I asked about how she got on board in the UoPeople management and the truth is that it was by an act of God, hard work and opportunity. Time and chance happens to them all according to King Solomon.

In conclusion, the meeting was great. Some information gathered include a Masters program is to be started by UoPoeple soon. She recounted about her joy in attending the New York outing with UoPeople leadership and members. Well, I got new vision and more from that meeting and I will keep this blog updated with progress report.

Cheers.

My Ambassadorial Function: More students need the UoPeople Opportunity, lets join the mission to reach them with information

Students need the UoPeople Opportunity

It all starts with information!:

UoPeople's flier is placed in a cyber cafee in Lagos, for likely prospects to see it in Gbagada, Lagos, Nigeria. After speaking with the owner of the cafe about the UoPeople study opportunity this was pasted. Many more people are helping to spread the word about UoPeople, you too can do so.

A meeting with a barber, a lad who is a likely prospect in a barber's shop in Lagos, he could also become a student.

Meeting and talking with likely students on the street of Lagos. Behind is a mobile phone engineer who also sees this study at UoPeople as a great opportunity

Performing some UoPeople ambassadorial function in June 2014 at Lagos City

Performing UoPeople ambassadorial work to me means, reaching out to get more students for UoPeople.
Most likely, these are prospecting student and everyday people that have been denied education because of one reason or the other. Some people spoken with, see UoPeople as their best chance for tertiary education.
A whole generation of youth might waste away in Africa if education is not taking very crucial and seen as a rescue mission. Thanks to UoPeople and the opportunity it offers to people in Africa and the rest of the world.

I am expecting my UoPeople Diploma Certificate in August

UoPeople Diploma Certificate in August

By the 9th week of August, I will be expecting that my diploma certificate will be sent to me from UoPeople after rigorous three years of studies. The journey has been a real challenge, with many hurdles to overcome. But like they say, it all seemed like yesterday. A UoPeople degree certificate will create many advantages for anyone especially in Africa, since it is an American degree. A UoPeople degee is an accredited degree and supported by well known international bodies.

The opportunities are limitless, already what I have learned at UoPeople are opening my eyes to opportunities and UoPeople is always redefining itself, telling me that I always have to become better also. I will definitely love to do my masters in UoPeople when it gets started. Most likely, I will be one of the first Masters student at UoPeople. Although UoPeople is presently running survey in choosing the best courses among;

Masters in Public Health,
Masters in Management,
Masters in Entrepreneurship,
Masters in Computer Science,
Masters in Business Analytics,

I will opt for the Masters in Management Program since I am already in the Business Administration/Project Management line. UoPeople is an exciting learning instrument for everyone.

...Mr. President Shai Rashef, I agree, the UoPoeple vision is such a prestigious vision. This is me and President Shai at Abuja, Nigeria. The UoPeople presidents visit different countries. He might come around your country soon. You too can become a student by starting your application today!
